It Starts with Me: A Sound Meditation for Global Peace
Friday, November 17, 2017 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $10.00
Where: Swampscott Church of Spiritualism, 59 Burrill Street, Swampscott, MA
We have the power to change the world one thought, one word, and one action at a time. Come together in community to go on a guided meditation of voice and sound to journey inward where the spark of love and compassion reside.
Using guided meditations, crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, gong and other instruments, you will enter a state of relaxation to find and illuminate your own humanity, and prepare to illuminate it out into your home, your community, and into the world.
Sound Meditation promotes the ancient practice of sound work to affect conscious awareness. It is effective because it influences our emotional bodies as well as our physical bodies. Different sound vibrations interact with our physical and energetic bodies in beneficial ways: it activates higher states of consciousness, unlocks blocked emotions, relieves anxiety and stress, induces complete relaxation, promotes deep meditation, heightens clarity, improves ability to concentrate and decreases depression.
This event is being guided by Ellen Petersen of Nourishing Life Qigong, Eileen O’Brien, Jeanne Vural and Molly Williams, and is hosted by the Swampscott Church of Spiritualism.
Please bring a yoga mat and blanket if you wish to lie down during the meditation. Bring water.
This event is not religious and has no religious affiliation.
This event is not recommended for anyone with a history of seizures or children under 14.
